Santa Clara, California – May 31, 2012:  California Takshila University (Takshila) and The Brazilian Agency for Industrial Development (ABDi) signed a collaborative agreement to promote and strengthen cooperative relations between the parties.  The purpose of the Agreement is to develop entrepreneurship and educational collaboration and promote friendly relations between the two parties. ABDi and Takshila recognize the importance of:

(a)    Developing effective global competitive policies and strategies to promote sustainable economic growth;
(b)   Acknowledging that innovation is the driver of future growth and prosperity;
(c)    Understanding that investments in innovation and human capital development contribute to regional, national and international competitiveness;
(d)   Collaboration to promote global competitive policies and strategies to enhance sustainable economic growth;
(e)    Developing entrepreneurship and educational collaboration;

“This agreement underscores Brazil’s commitment in developing an innovation-based economy driven by new generational entrepreneurs,” said Dr. Wilker Ribeiro Filho, Project specialist, ABDi. “We are very excited to work with Takshila that bridges two most important nations of EG4 (BRIC) –India and Brazil being in Silicon Valley, the change setter of technology-based economy,” he added.

Under this agreement ABDi and Takshila will foster exchange and visits of entrepreneurs, staffs and students, exchange of educational materials and publications, cooperation in research and the presentation of its results, establish a strategic partnership to promote high-value innovation business activities, and assist in entrepreneurship- trainings, workshops, forums and meetings.

Dr. Ryan Baidya, Director, California Takshila University said, “ We are very pleased to have ABDi, Brazil as our collaborative partner in spreading the “Silicon Valley-Bug” of entrepreneurship.  We do not teach many things, that one sees many traditional campuses, we teach best what the sustainable economy needs the most –entrepreneurship.”
